Do not ignore a flashing lamp. That is misfire. Raw fuel can damage a catalytic converter if you keep going.
Do not assume it is the battery because the car sat in the heat. A slow crank is a battery and electrical issue. A lamp after a normal hot start is usually emissions or ignition. Different test. Different parts.
